Maintaining your confidentiality is paramount, and I am committed to protecting your personal information

I adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR,) which protects your legal right to privacy. I am registered under the Data Protection Act (1988) with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO.) The GDPR states that I have a lawful right to process your personal information for the provision of health treatment (therapy.)

I will collect your information, including your email address and phone number, for the purposes of maintaining contact with you, to comply with UKCP guidelines, and to help monitor progress of our work together. My business phone and laptop are password protected. Emails and phone numbers will be deleted after a year, or sooner if our work has ended together.

Paper records of your assessment and brief number coded progress case notes that I will make following each session will be stored in a locked filing cabinet. These will be destroyed seven years after our work together finishes.

You hold the right to view your records at any time. Please provide me with as much notice as possible if this is your wish.

In exceptional circumstances, I may need to contact your GP, nominated emergency contact or relevant legal authority, to disclose information that you have shared during a session. Such circumstances might be when I feel that you are at risk of hurting yourself or others, where there might be a child protection or vulnerable adult issue, or where there is risk of a serious illegal act being undertaken. I am duty bound under the law to contact the police in such circumstances. This disclosure would ideally be undertaken collaboratively, and with your permission, or directly by yourself.

Complaints regarding how I handle your personal data can come to me directly. Formal complaints can be forwarded to the ICO. ICO security number: CSN0331292.
